Athelstan Museum
Town Hall, Cross Hayes, Malmesbury
The Athelstan Museum is situated within the Town Hall. It is a few minutes walk away from the historic Malmesbury Abbey. The collection reflects the local history of the town and surrounding area. Displays include: Archaeology, photographs, prints, coins and tokens, costume, Malmesbury lace, early bicycles, 18th century fire engine, Malmesbury Branch Railway photographs. Also information on King Athelstan, the Civil War and Thomas Hobbes, philosopher. Also available is the 'mini museum detective' project, for pre-school and primary school children. The project provides a variety of educational/hands-on activities for children and their families to enjoy.

Malmesbury Abbey
Abbey Row, Malmesbury
The Abbey although only a small portion of its magnificence, still crowns the hilltop and dominates all views of the town as it has for well over 800 years. The first King of All England, Athelstan, grandson of Alfred the Great, was buried here in 939AD.

Cotswold Water Park
Keynes Country Park, Nr Cirencester
North of the district is Britain's largest water park, with 133 lakes, formed after a gravel extraction. It provides a wide variety of exciting Water Sports, including sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, sub aqua, water skiing and power boating. Also provides cycling, caravan and camping, walking and horse riding, kayaking and jetskiing. Keynes Country Park includes a Visitor Centre, boating lake, Water Sports Centre (Waterland) and Nature Reserve. Coarse fishing, children's beach and play area, lakeside cafe, picnic sites, barbecues, health walks and trim trail, boat hire (summer), wood sculpture trail, cycle hire, shop and fossil exhibition.
